(TOU) — Kate Bush might want to send Netflix a muffin basket if she hasn’t already.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the singer has broken three world records as a result of her 1985 song “Running Up That Hill” being used in the most recent season of the television show “Stranger Things.”
Bush currently holds the records for the longest time it takes a song to reach No. 1 on the UK’s official singles chart, the oldest artist to do so, and the distance between No. 1 spots on the chart.
Cher, the previous record holder who was 52 years old when her song “Believe” topped the charts in 1998, congratulated Bush on Twitter.
Records Are Meant 2 Be Broken, so Bravo Kate! Cher tweeted, “Remember Back In The Day, When Women Had SHORT SELL BY DATES!? “We Had 2 Fight Our Way Through The Testosterone Curtain, & We Did It So The Girls Who Came After Us Could Sing As Long As They Want To,” the song’s lyrics read. With Massive Respect
Bush recently acknowledged and thanked Netflix in a post on her website for “Stranger Things.”
The song “Running Up That Hill” is featured in it, and according to the young viewers who adore the program (which I do as well! ), it has been given a whole new lease of life.
“Everything is really exciting!”
