According to the New York Times, police are looking for a 22-year-old white man in connection with the July 4 Highland Park attack.
The person is described as a “person of interest” who is thought to be driving a silver 2010 Honda Fit “with Illinois license plates.”
According to CNN, the license plate number is DM80653.
According to the New York Times, “hundreds of law enforcement officers fanned out across northern suburbs” in search of the individual.
According to Breitbart News, at least six people were killed and 24 were injured in the Highland Park attack.
Shots were fired at 10:14 a.m. during Highland Park’s July 4th parade, according to NBC Chicago. Soon after, police announced that they were looking for “a white man between the ages of 18 and 20 with a small build and longer black hair.”
According to Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Christopher Covelli, the attacker fired from a rooftop into the parade.
“We’re asking everyone to stay inside,” Covelli added. Right now, stay alert. This individual has not been identified. At this point, everything appears to be completely random.”
According to FOX News, a firearm was discovered on a rooftop where the attacker was believed to be. Sheriff Covelli described the weapon as a “high-powered rifle,” but provided no other information.
