The DOJ recently made a revelation about the Oath Keepers’ plans for January 6th that shows the extremes involved in the original conspiracy and may have repercussions that ripple out, possibly affecting Trump and other top officials. The revelations themselves are shocking and deserve national attention, but they also necessitate a quick inquiry into whether the conspiracy was disclosed to those in positions of authority who were responsible for the attack on Congress. The Oath Keepers were undoubtedly the soldiers. The names of the generals Did Trump know that the Oath Keepers were willing to take such measures, and did he give his approval? As reported by CNN:
A “death list” of Georgia election officials, lessons on how to conduct “hasty ambushes,” and attempts to obtain homemade firearms are among the alleged extensive planning by the Oath Keepers to prepare for violence in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021, according to new information released by the Justice Department on Friday evening.
In a court filing from the government, which includes a list of the evidence that prosecutors plan to use against the Oath Keepers during their trial in September, the details—many of which have never been made public before—were made known.
Nine Oath Keepers — Stewart Rhodes, Kelly Meggs, Kenneth Harrelson, Jessica Watkins, Roberto Minuta, Joseph Hackett, David Moerschel, Thomas Caldwell, and Edward Vallejo — are accused of engaging in seditious conspiracy, and the prosecution will try to show that they prepared for violence in great detail.
Cassidy Hutchinson paved the way for serious conspiracy allegations that center on Donald Trump’s knowledge of impending violence and desire to instigate it. The conspiracy would reach a whole new level if the Oath Keepers had revealed their plans to Roger Stone (as an example) or Mark Meadows, the “Rosetta Stone.” Remember that the Oath Keepers had a conversation with a White House representative before January 6th. They talked to Mark Meadows, right? Did Meadows repeat what they talked about? from a HuffPo article from May 2022.
This is a stunning new development that shows how much the DOJ now knows about January 6th and who was in charge of what phase of planning. It is intriguing that the DOJ made the accusations public in a filing late on Friday night when the hearing before the Committee is scheduled for Tuesday. What subject was expected? the 187-minute window in which Trump permitted the Capitol attack to proceed.
