At the Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday, veteran NFL left tackle Duane Brown was reportedly detained on a charge of possessing a firearm.
Following the discovery of a gun inside Brown’s luggage by the Transportation Security Administration, who spent the previous five seasons as a player for the Seattle Seahawks, TMZ reports that Brown was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm.
The Daily News examined the inmate records in Los Angeles and found After being arrested on Saturday, Brown was freed on a $10,000 bail. It is classified as a misdemeanor.
An inquiry for comment from the Daily News was not immediately answered by the Los Angeles Airport Police. According to sources cited by TMZ, the gun that was discovered in Brown’s luggage was unloaded.
The Houston Texans selected the 36-year-old Brown in the first round of the 2008 draft. Before being traded to the Seahawks in 2017, he spent 10 seasons with Houston.
Brown, a free agent at the moment, has been chosen for five Pro Bowls, including the most recent one while playing for the Seahawks.
He has started all 203 of the games in which he has participated, including all 17 of them with Seattle last season, where he was tasked with guarding star quarterback Russell Wilson.
According to the records kept by the prison, Brown’s court appearance was scheduled for August 3 in Los Angeles.
