Donald Trump’s tweets, according to Lindsey Graham, were like “crack cocaine for this guy.”
On November 14, 2018 in Washington, DC, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) (R) listens to U.S. President Donald Trump in the Roosevelt Room of the White House.
Trump has been described as “entertaining as hell” by Sen. Lindsey Graham, according to Mark Leibovich’s new book.
According to the book, Graham remarked that “any tweet he sends is like crack cocaine for this guy.”
Graham is currently fighting a subpoena from a grand jury formed to look into potential interference in the 2020 election.
Sen. Lindsey Graham was having fun on the ride prior to his relationship with former President Donald Trump involving grand jury subpoenas.
According to Mark Leibovich’s new book, “Thank You for Your Servitude: Donald Trump’s Washington and the Price of Submission,” which comes out on Tuesday, Graham described Trump as “entertaining as hell.”
In a 2019 interview with Leibovich, Graham, a fervent Trump supporter since the 2016 presidential contest, adopted a “Trump-explainer mode,” asserting that the president is “good for business.”
“And he is aware of his benefits to business. What will take place after that? Remain tuned. For this guy, any tweet he sends is equivalent to crack cocaine “stated Graham.
Graham is currently defending himself against a subpoena issued by a Fulton County Grand Jury investigating interference in the 2020 election. At the time, Trump had asked Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find” more than 11,000 votes for him.
According to the subpoena, Graham allegedly called Raffensperger to entice him to challenge absentee ballots. It’s been dubbed a “fishing expedition” by Graham.
Leibovich’s book explains how Graham, who “had little regard for Trump as a serious thinker and moral human being,” ended up becoming a steadfast supporter of Trump.
Graham “reserved a certain awe” for Trump, according to Leibovich, who also stated that Graham “couldn’t believe how Trump could endure the crises he did or got away with what he got away with.”
