The Challenge, which aired on MTV for more than 20 years, has changed channels and its casting.
28 popular reality TV contestants have been recruited for The Challenge: USA’s first season on CBS to compete in a series of physical challenges for the chance to win a massive $500,000 prize.
Since 2005, T.J. Levin has hosted the program, and he will also introduce this new installment.
But how will this novel format function? What guidelines apply?
How Does The USA Challenge Operate?
The 28 contestants can be seen listening to host T.J. explain the premise of the series in a sneak-peek clip that has been uploaded to MTV’s YouTube channel.
The 45-year-old host cautions the celebrities after welcoming them to the contest: “You will be faced with challenges and eliminations that are harder than anything that you have ever done.”
Following that, it is stated that each contestant will start with $1,000. However, they will need to have at least $5000 to advance to the final. Winning one of the physical challenges or an elimination will earn you money.
Additionally, according to Paramount, alliances and strategies will be “more challenging than ever” because every week an algorithm will pair up two contestants at random to compete against one another for the money that goes into their accounts.
The Challenge: USA winner will receive a $500,000 prize as well as a spot in the upcoming international Challenge tournament, which will air on Paramount +.
