MO. ST. LOUIS – You’ll recognize a familiar FOX 2 News face in the morning. Amelia Mugavero will switch to the mornings after working as an evening traffic reporter.
On Thursday, Molly Rose made her departure public. She is expecting a boy in December and will be spending more time with her young daughter.
“Well, the news just keeps coming in! I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be Fox 2 News in the Morning’s new morning traffic anchor. I’ve probably filled in for you a few times in the mornings, but this time is different because it’s a permanent time. After Molly Rose, I undoubtedly have big shoes to fill, but the morning crew has truly welcomed me with open arms. For the next week, I’ll be on vacation, but on July 19, I’ll be ready with my 3 a.m. alarm and plenty of coffee. St. Louis, I can’t wait to get up with you every morning. At FOX 2, Mugavero began working in November 2021. Before receiving training in traffic reporting, she worked as a general assignment reporter.
Amelia, who is originally from Texas, travels to St. Louis from KOTV in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Although she received the prestigious position of Feature Twirler for the Marching Illini after graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
