Texas’s HOUSTON — A teenage suspect has been detained in the case more than a month after a 14-year-old Lamar High School student was shot and killed in west Houston. According to police, Axel Turcios was shot outside of his Ella Lee Lane apartment complex on Friday, May 6, shortly after 8 p.m. According to the authorities, a kind person heard the shooting and helped Axel, who later passed away at the hospital.
According to the witness’s account to the police, Axel was shot during an apparent robbery. According to the witness, two Hispanic males between the ages of 15 and 17 were seen escaping the scene and getting into a PT Cruiser.
Axel’s family joined Houston officials on May 19 as they appealed to the public for assistance in locating the “vicious killers” and offered a $25,000 reward for information in the case.
“These people who did this are who we need to find. We want to hold them responsible and fully recognize that Axel shouldn’t have experienced this, and we don’t want it to occur to anyone else “Sylvester Turner, the mayor, spoke at the conference. Finding the people who are accountable for what happened to Axel will undoubtedly help this family find some peace and closure even though he was lost due to a senseless crime. According to Houston police, detectives received information following that news conference that helped them identify the suspects. Ramiro Hernandez, 17, was taken into custody on Wednesday as a result of additional investigation. He faces a death penalty murder charge. Hernandez is the only person facing charges at the time.
“Even neighborhoods are subject to rules. A 14-year-old innocent child with his entire life ahead of him is the subject. It makes no sense. It’s absurd, and it aggravates me “Troy Finner, the HPD chief, said in May. “Please take the initiative to act morally if you know anything. Bring this family some closure and peace at this time when they are so desperately hurting.”
