Linktree, a popular “link in bio” service, will launch an iOS and Android app on Tuesday, the company announced. Previously, you were required to log into Linktree via a browser on desktop or mobile to manage your profile, but if you prefer an app, you can now do so. The “majority” of Linktree’s signups and logins from its more than 25 million users occur on mobile devices, according to a Linktree press release; therefore, this new app may prove to be a popular option among creators.
Link in bio services, which allow you to create a simple page with a list of all the links you wish to share with the world, have grown in popularity among creators over the past few years. Social networks such as Instagram and TikTok only allow you to include a single link in your profile, but link in bio services such as Linktree allow you to use that one link to point to multiple locations on the web. The services I’ve tried have all been relatively simple to set up, and they can be a great option if you want to establish an online presence but don’t require a full-featured Squarespace website.
The new app from Linktree is the latest in a series of noteworthy company updates. In June, it introduced a Linktree Marketplace where you can browse “Link Apps” from companies such as Reddit, SoundCloud, and TikTok that you can add to your profile. In May, it was announced that your NFTs could be displayed on your profile.
