DA Sen. Lindsey Graham will be called to testify in the Georgia criminal case against Trump, according to Fani Willis, who promised to take the matter before a judge.
Video:
Nobody wants to attend the prosecutor’s party, but that is a necessary part of our job, Willis said. If we have the legal authority to bring him before the court, we will present the case to the judge, who will then issue a ruling. However, I have extensive experience in trial work. People typically don’t want to attend. Because of this, you have the authority to issue subpoenas and summon individuals to appear.
Sen. Graham received a message from the DA that she would not relent in her pursuit of his testimony and that Graham’s lack of desire to testify was not a valid excuse.
If Lindsey Graham cancels, Willis will take the matter before a judge, who will then call him in to testify. Any judge will probably rule that Graham must testify given the pressure campaign he ran against Georgia election officials on behalf of Trump.
Sen. Graham is standing up for a man who, if the tables were turned, would not do the same for him. Graham had better be ready to serve a prison sentence for Trump because it doesn’t appear that DA Willis will back down.
