The term “outsourcing” is no longer just a catchphrase for low-cost labor, according to Kunle Agboola, general manager of HR Operations for Global Manpower Limited (GML), as it has evolved into a crucial business strategy for both small and large businesses that believe in devoting 100 percent of their resources to their core business operations and outsourcing the remainder to specialized vendors.
Agboola made this comment in response to the partnership between the Association of Outsourcing Professionals of Nigeria (AOPN) and GML, a major outsourcing subsidiary of MacTay, for the 2022 outsourcing expo, which aims to spark discussions about the top outsourcing trends both locally and globally. He goes on to say that outsourcing has proven to be a strategic partner for maximizing business growth over the years.
The event took place on July 6 at Shell Hall in the Muson Center in Onikan, Lagos, under the theme “Top Post Pandemic Outsourcing Trends for Businesses—Opportunities and Threats.” Through capacity building and advocacy for all stakeholders, the Outsourcing Expo serves as a platform for the promotion of professional outsourcing practice in Nigeria and Africa.
“Outsourcing has undoubtedly transformed how businesses run today. When outsourcing first became popular, it was only used for low-risk jobs like payroll administration and data entry. Today, we observe the widespread outsourcing of non-core operations, such as contact center operations. By utilizing the financial advantages of contracting with reputable businesses like ours for high-end functions like IT and other BPO services, we at Global Manpower are in a unique position to support our partners, according to Agboola.
Agboola claims that the expo, which typically attracts 250 attendees and 20 exhibitors each year, is where the newest trends are developed and finalized. Additionally, thought leaders in the industry present papers on the hot topics of the day. For outsourcing customers, suppliers, and advisors in Nigeria and elsewhere, “It is a place to be.”
Speaking more about the partnership, Agboola explains that Global Manpower Limited (GML) is MacTay’s outsourcing division and specializes in offering outsourcing services to businesses in order to guarantee that their clients have highly engaged workforces committed to achieving their corporate goals without having to worry about losing focus on their core business operations.
In his keynote address, Segun Akande, CEO of Xown Solutions Ltd., emphasized the need to constantly promote conversations about technology automation while raising the GDP of the economy by having a sizable share of the offshore market as a means of growth and evolution.
The expo featured business networking sessions, exhibition opportunities, and panel discussions on opportunities and threats from an entrepreneurial and business perspective. It also emphasized how crucial it was for the expo to strengthen outsourcing’s position globally.
